Utilizing their own experiences in business and their collective network they saw the need for women to have strong and diverse mentors. Stacey Felzer is an experienced marketing professional. With 20 years of experience in Manufacturing and wholesale/distribution, she has held various roles in marketing, sales, business development and product management. She has held positions with Acuity Brands, HD Supply and Anixter. Now she is the owner of Chord Marketing Services, a company created to help companies create their big picture marketing plans and then she works to execute those plans. She specializes in creating marketing in tune with her customer’s needs. From strategic marketing plans to branding, demand generation to content marketing, she strives to ensure your marketing is hitting the right chord with your customers.
Stacey is passionate about her work in mentoring and coaching. She has volunteered with the NAED Women in Industry committee. She was a part of building a women’s network at Anixter – empowering over 400 women to come together. Which all led her to partnering with Kathy Jo Van to develop the Empowering Women Mentorship Program. A mentoring program that brings professionals in the electrical industry together to provide up and coming women in our industry with the opportunity to broaden knowledge, gain confidence, elevate capabilities and stand out through mentoring.
Stacey has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lourdes College and an MBA with a focus in marketing from the University of Phoenix. She regularly volunteers with foster families and mentoring organizations. In 2020, she became a certified foster parent and currently has two foster sons.
Kathy Jo Van
Kathy Jo (KJ) Van is an industry veteran and former Sr VP of Southwire. Throughout her 30+ year career in the electrical industry, KJ built a reputation for her leadership skills and positive impact, for her employers and for the industry overall. Following her retirement in 2017, KJ started another chapter of her life with a focus on staying connected and giving back to an industry that has meant so much to her and her family.
KJ now provides workshops and custom programs that empower companies and individuals to understand the value of mentoring and define a path to capitalize on these benefits. In 2020, she partnered with Stacey Felzer to launch the Empowering Women Mentorship Program – focused on providing up-and-coming women in the electrical industry with the opportunity to broaden knowledge, gain confidence, elevate capabilities and stand out through the power of mentoring.
A graduate from The University of Notre Dame, KJ earned her graduate degree from Northwestern University’s JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management. KJ is an avid Cubs fan and enjoys splitting her time between Arizona and Chicago with her husband Ron, 3 children, a grand-daughter, and puppy Addison.
