International Women's Day/Week we had the great fortune to have Luc Villeneuve join us for a conversation about "Men as Allies". Luc shared about his journey, the importance of male allies, how we need to share feedback and correct when inappropriate things are said and to give men the opportunity to be allies. It was a fabulous conversation and sparked some great ideas and passion about how we need to see each other as human beings. Many ideas were shared after the discussion on how to keep the conversation a live. If you are interested in learning more about being male allies or would like to connect with a group of passionate individuals, reach out. I think there is more to be said and Luc along with Martin Bernier host a fabulous community about being "Stronger and Better Together, Men as Allies".
Leila Lavaee, from Travel designed by Leila, shared some of the most important tips on how to navigate our current travel environment during our WIL social. First off, we are all so excited about being able to travel again!
She coached us on the importance of planning, having travel insurance, and doing our homework no matter where we decide to go. Some countries have relaxed their covid rules a little faster than Canada but as of March 1 many restrictions will be removed. She shares the importance of you being comfortable and just knowing what your own personal limitations are. Thanks Leila for joining us and sharing these important tips.

Thank you Akilah for joining our community at WIL Empowered and sharing time at our last social to share your knowledge and expertise. The women loved all of the incredible insight you shared from tax planning, wealth planning, common language, how to navigate divorce, loss of partner, job, etc. Also your advice on starting early and teaching our children the importance of building wealth early and how the money they invest will compound.
I think my biggest take away is the importance of having someone work with you that is an expert. We all have unique gifts and talents but are not good at everything so having someone like you to map out a solid plan and keep you on target with it is critical.

I spent many of my executive years in masculine energy which kept me from Being my full self. I shared this with Ralph Graves Jr on the "Unstoppable" podcast that as women, I believe we have tried to fit into a male dominated world especially in the corporate world. And that actually takes away from the power we bring to the table. As we navigate these types of situations it's important that we bring our full self, to share the strengths and talents that we have so that we harmonize both the feminine and the masculine energy.

On Nov 5th, our guests joined Nannette de Gaspé Beaubien, Founder and CEO of luxury skincare brand, NANNETTE de GASPÉ, for a virtual skincare masterclass and tutorial experience.
The session opened with a discussion on Nannette’s entrepreneurial journey into the world of beauty and introduce her luxurious, award-winning range of natural, high-performance, results-focused skincare products, and its highly patented ingredient delivery technology.
Attendees learned how to simplify their beauty routine with tips and techniques to keep their skin looking youthful, hydrated, and healthy while experiencing a hands-on class where they discovered how to do their own facial care at home. Nannette and her team walked us through each step, with an introduction to micro-needling and dry masking, and demystify some of the common misconceptions around skincare.
